Basketball Recap: Merritt Academy Comes Up Short

Merritt Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They came up short against Michigan Math & Science, falling 61-37. The Mustangs lost against Michigan Math & Science in their previous head to head back in February of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 2-0 score last time.

Merritt Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Michigan Math & Science, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Star International Academy the next time they take the court. Michigan Math & Science will host Star International Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Merritt Academy will head out to face them at 6:30 p.m. on January 28th.
