Volleyball Recap: Jefferson Academy Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Jefferson Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 3-1 to the Prospect Ridge Academy Miners. The Jaguars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Miners apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Jefferson Academy started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 24-26, 25-21, 25-19, 25-20.

Emily Neptune paced Jefferson Academy's offense, picking up ten kills. Neptune got some help from Eliana Huang and her 16 assists.

Prospect Ridge Academy was led to victory by DeLaney Ash and Molly McLemore. Ash had seven digs and three aces, while McLemore had six kills, three blocks, and two aces. That's the most kills McLemore has posted since back in October of 2024.

Jefferson Academy's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Prospect Ridge Academy, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-1.

Jefferson Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-1 defeat against Aspen on the 27th. As for Prospect Ridge Academy, they will take on St. Mary's Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
