Giddings moved up to 315 from 396 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 3A Region IV District 26. The Buffaloes climbed the ranks as a result of besting Caldwell 34-7.

Gonzales took down Houston 36-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.

Giddings' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Kyle Jones threw for 76 and 1 touchdown and Deon Blue had 35 yards receiving. On the ground Justin Herzog contributed 117 yards. Josh Mack helped Giddings' passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 24 yards.

Chris Jones' team's dynamic duo of Jones and Blue proved to be unstoppable against the Hornets, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Mack helped Giddings' passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 24 yards.

Herzog provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Buffaloes beat Caldwell.

La Grange's Dillon Davis and Wes Scott have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Davis has thrown for 557 yards this season, while Scott has 13 catches for 301 yards. Tre'vontae Hights from Yoakum leads the league in rushing with 673 yards.

The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place La Grange takes on second place Gonzales.

The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Cuero takes on Giddings. The Gobblers have allowed 72 points this season, while the Buffaloes have given up 67.

Giddings made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 2,956 from 3,773. The improvement was the result of a 34-7 victory over Bobby Jack Goforth's team last week.
