Baseball Recap: Handley Comes Up Short

Handley fell victim to Etowah and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They lost 7-0 to the Blue Devils. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Tigers were not able to get on the board.

Handley got a good showing from Bronson Veal, who pitched 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. The dominant performance also gave Veal a new career-low in walks (one).

Handley has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 16-12 record this season. As for Etowah, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-15.

Handley has already played their next matchup, a 12-0 loss against Piedmont on the 18th. As for Etowah, they will square off against Pell City at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
