Volleyball Game Preview: Perrysburg Yellow Jackets vs. HEA Firebirds HomeSchool

The Perrysburg Yellow Jackets will face off against HEA Firebirds HomeSchool at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Perrysburg is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Ohio's top teams: Springfield, who was ranked 18th at the time (Perrysburg was ranked 17th). The Yellow Jackets took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Blue Devils on Thursday. The contest marked the Yellow Jackets' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

While Perrysburg had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 18 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-20, 21-25, 25-18.

Meanwhile, HEA Firebirds HomeSchool came up short against Springfield last Thursday and fell 3-1.

HEA Firebirds HomeSchool's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Perrysburg, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 11-1.

Perrysburg was able to grind out a solid victory over HEA Firebirds HomeSchool in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, winning 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Yellow Jackets since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
