Doniphan-Trumbull had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Saturday. They came within a single point of losing the streak, but they secured a 57-56 W against the Wood River Eagles. The Cardinals have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Eagles, too.

Doniphan-Trumbull's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Parker Volk, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 17 boards. The dominant performance gave Volk a new career-high in rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Poppe, who went 8 for 18 en route to 23 points and five boards.

Doniphan-Trumbull smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Doniphan-Trumbull's victory bumped their record up to 13-5. As for Wood River, their loss dropped their record down to 15-6.
