Soccer Game Preview: Le Mars vs. Sioux City East

The Le Mars Bulldogs will venture away from home to take on the Sioux City East Black Raiders at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Le Mars' offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for five straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Le Mars fell victim to Unity Christian and their airtight defense on Thursday. They lost 6-0 to the Knights.

Meanwhile, Sioux City East also failed to score in their most recent game. They came up short against Bishop Heelan Catholic on Tuesday, falling 7-0. While losing is never fun, Sioux City East can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa soccer rankings (they are ranked 74th, while Bishop Heelan Catholic are ranked third).

Sioux City East has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season. As for Le Mars, their loss dropped their record down to 1-7.

Le Mars came out on top in a nail-biter against Sioux City East when the teams last played back in April of 2024, sneaking past 4-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
