Basketball Game Preview: Cedar Grove Saints vs. Luella Lions

Cedar Grove is a perfect 4-0 against Luella since December of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Saints will head out on the road to square off against the Lions at 7:30 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Cedar Grove not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since January 7th (when they won 95-35). They blew past Riverdale 80-36. The Saints haven't had any issues with the Raiders recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Emanuel Green produced another solid performance putting up 40 points. Cedar Grove is 2-1 when Green posts 25 or more points, but 1-2 otherwise. Jaimarion Mathis was another key player, earning eight points.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Luella, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 46-44 victory over North Clayton on Tuesday.

The win got Cedar Grove back to even at 3-3. As for Luella, their record now sits at 2-3.

Cedar Grove didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Luella in their previous matchup back in February, but they still walked away with a 56-50 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Saints since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
