Basketball Recap: Gibault Catholic Comes Up Short

Gibault Catholic lost against Mater Dei last Friday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Gibault Catholic Hawks fell 48-37 to the Mater Dei Knights. The Hawks just can't catch a break and have now endured six losses in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mater Dei to victory, but perhaps none more so than Conner Diekemper, who went 5 for 10 on his way to 13 points. Elliott Rakers was another key player, putting up eight points.

Gibault Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Mater Dei, they now have a winning record of 7-6.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Metro-East Lutheran the next time they take the court. Gibault Catholic will head out to face Metro-East Lutheran at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, while Mater Dei will play them later in the day, at 7:00 p.m.
