Softball Recap: Newmarket Mules vs. Wilton-Lyndeborough Warriors
Newmarket waltzed into their matchup on Wednesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They put the hurt on the Wilton-Lyndeborough Warriors with a sharp 22-6 win. The Mules might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by six runs or more this season.
Emma Surina was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double. That double marked the first that she has hit this season.
In other batting news, Newmarket got a massive performance out of Paige Sweitzer, who went 3-for-4 with four runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Those three hits gave Sweitzer a new career-high.
