Softball Recap: Hercules' Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Hercules waltzed into their game on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 19-17 victory over the Vallejo Redhawks. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Titans have posted since April 24, 2024.

Samaya De Alba and Karma Miller did most of the damage at the plate: De Alba got on base in four of her eight plate appearances with one double, while Miller went 4-for-6 with one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaida Flores, who got four hits from her six at bats.

Hercules' victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-2-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 23.3 runs over those games. As for Vallejo, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5-1 record this season.

Hercules will be playing in front of their home fans against Kennedy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Hercules will need to watch out since Kennedy has now posted at least ten runs in their last three contests. As for Vallejo, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Emery at 4:00 p.m. on April 18.
