Softball Recap: Mercy Bears vs. Castilleja Gators        
        
		
            
 In what's become a running theme this season, Mercy gave their fans yet another huge  win on Thursday. They never let the Castilleja Gators onto the board and left with  a   14-0  victory. The  win was a breath of fresh air for Mercy as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
  J Villavicencio made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she  struck out six batters over  three innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   two  hits (and not a single walk). Villavicencio was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring a  run while going 2-for-3.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  A Anderson, who  went 1-for-2 with a  home run, four  RBI,  and two  runs.  K Graupera was another key contributor,  scoring two  runs while going 2-for-2.
 On Castilleja's side, they saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Lexie Stinson, who  went 1-for-1 with a  double.
 Mercy's victory  ended  a  three-game drought at home  and  bumped them up to 8-9-1. As for Castilleja, they dropped their record down to 5-8 with that  loss, which was their fourth straight  on the road.
 Coincidentally,  the two teams will both be playing Notre Dame the next time they take the field. Mercy will head out to face Notre Dame at 4:00  p.m.  on Monday, while Castilleja will  host them  at 4:00  p.m.  on Tuesday.
