Sandia Prep and West Las Vegas squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Sandia Prep had to settle for second. They fell just short of the West Las Vegas Dons by a score of 3-2. The Sundevils were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Dons apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2015.
Sandia Prep took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The match finished with set scores of 12-25, 25-16, 23-25, 25-22, 15-12.
Avery Anderson paced Sandia Prep's offense, picking up 15 kills. Anderson got some help from
Bryana Lujan and her 24 assists.
Meredith Staples and
Cori Monaghan kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with three aces apiece.
Sandia Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 16-12. As for West Las Vegas, their win bumped their record up to 21-5.
