Basketball Recap: Stanton Comes Up Short

Stanton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They came up short against the Denver City Mustangs, falling 74-54. The Buffaloes were not able to make up for their defeat to the Mustangs from their previous meeting back in November of 2023.

Stanton's loss dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Denver City, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-6.

Stanton has already played their next match (against Compass Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Denver City will host Brownfield at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Brownfield knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 11 contests -- so hopefully Denver City likes a good challenge.
