Baseball Recap: Casteel Has No Trouble Against Basha

Casteel lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Basha, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Tuesday's matchup. The Colts put the hurt on the Bears with a sharp 14-4 win on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Colts, who have now won six contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Baylor Denny made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed four innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Denny was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ryne Barker, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Ryan Harwood was another key player, scoring three runs while going 2-for-3.

Casteel always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .656. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Basha only posted an OBP of .444.

Casteel has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Basha, they now have a losing record of 6-7-1.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Casteel will take on rival Chandler at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Basha is set to challenge their familiar foe the Colts at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday.
