Softball Game Preview: Wonewoc-Center Wolves vs. New Lisbon Rockets

Wonewoc-Center is preparing for their first conference matchup of the season on Monday. They will head out on the road to challenge the New Lisbon Rockets at 5:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Wonewoc-Center is headed out to face New Lisbon after opening their season at home and giving their fans just what they were looking for. Everything went the Wolves' way against Mauston on Monday as they made off with a 17-7 victory.

Brooklynn Bolton made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up four earned (and three unearned) runs off only one hit. Bolton was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Those three runs gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Callissa Keller, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Mattison Preuss, who scored three runs while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, New Lisbon made easy work of North Crawford on Friday and carried off a 17-2 win.

Everything went Wonewoc-Center's way against New Lisbon in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Wonewoc-Center made off with a 7-1 victory. Will the Wolves repeat their success, or do the Rockets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
