Softball Recap: Fremont Takes a Loss

Fremont came into this matchup off a tough seven-run loss last Thursday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Herriman Mustangs by a score of 8-6 on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Silverwolves of the 5-4 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Jessica Broadbent was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Brooklyn Himelright also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

This is the second loss in a row for Fremont and nudges their season record down to 1-8. As for Herriman, the win got them back to even at 6-6.

Fremont has already played their next match, a 12-11 loss against Ridgeline on the 24th. As for Herriman, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 12-1 defeat against Riverton on the 25th.
