Ferndale and Lynden are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2015, but likely not for long. The Golden Eagles are taking a road trip to face off against the Lions at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

The home team had won the previous seven meetings between Ferndale and Lynden Christian, and Lynden Christian kept the tradition alive. The Golden Eagles fell just short of the Lyncs by a score of 2-1 on Thursday. The loss continues a trend for Ferndale in their meetings with Lynden Christian: they've now lost three in a row.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Lynden's offense. They came up short against Sehome on Thursday, falling 8-0. While losing is never fun, Lynden can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington soccer rankings (they are ranked 134th, while Sehome are ranked 27th).

Lynden has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-4-2 record this season. As for Ferndale, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5-5.

Ferndale beat Lynden by a goal when the teams last played back in March of 2024, winning 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Golden Eagles since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
