5A District 16 recap November 5, 2013
American Heritage added to the longest winning streak in 5A District 16 this week by beating Cardinal Gibbons, 71-24. This was the team's eighth consecutive win.

Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, American Heritage's Gibson and McKenzie have proven to be a lethal combination. 6-4 quarterback Gibson has thrown for 1,043 yards this season, while McKenzie has 22 catches for 454 yards. Key West's Mekhi Sargent leads the league in rushing yards with 993.
The Conchs' Sargent is a mere 7 yards away from breaking the 1,000-rushing-yards mark for the season. Sargent has rushed for 993 yards on 141 carries so far this year.
The Patriots led 5A District 16 in scoring this week by notching 71 points on the Chiefs. Gibson ran for 90 yards in the win.
