Charles O. Dickerson and Tioga are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2016, but likely not for long. The Blue Raiders will venture away from home to square off against the Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Charles O. Dickerson has ten straight victories, Tioga has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Saturday, Charles O. Dickerson made easy work of Edison and carried off an 11-3 win. Considering the Blue Raiders have won 14 matchups by more than six runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Nik Nelson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. He has been hot for a while, having posted at least one stolen base the last nine times he's played.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Owen Fulton, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Another player making a difference was Anthony Muro, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Saturday just wasn't the day for Tioga's offense. They came up short against Union Springs on Saturday, falling 14-0.
Charles O. Dickerson pushed their record up to 15-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Tioga, they now have a losing record of 2-3.
Charles O. Dickerson came out on top in a nail-biter against Tioga in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, sneaking past 8-7. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Blue Raiders since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
