Basketball Recap: Coronado Thunderbirds vs. Eastlake Falcons

Coronado lost against Eastlake back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Coronado Thunderbirds fell to the Eastlake Falcons 51-46.

Despite the loss, Coronado still got an impressive performance from Cason Golding, who went 9-for-17 on his way to 27 points and six rebounds. The dominant performance gave Golding a new career-high in points. Andre Martinez also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Eastlake found their leader in sophomore Diego Diaz, who posted 18 points. Diaz continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. Braeden Quigley was another key player, putting up seven points in addition to ten boards and three blocks.

Coronado's loss dropped their record down to 19-9. As for Eastlake, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 22-7 record this season.

Coronado wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 41-37 defeat against Franklin on the 7th. As for Eastlake, they have also already played their next game, a 31-30 loss against Montwood on the 7th.
