Football Game Preview: Beebe Badgers vs. Maumelle Hornets

Beebe is preparing for their first conference matchup of the season on Friday. After each having a week off, they and the Maumelle Hornets will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

While Beebe's win against Greene County Tech wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Badgers won a matchup that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by the Golden Eagles 21-20. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Badgers.

Beebe can attribute much of their success to Curtis Goodrich, who rushed for 115 yards.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Maumelle, who bounced back after a loss on the road on September 4th. They took down Vilonia 38-24 two weeks ago. The victory continues a trend for the Hornets in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won three in a row.

Maumelle's win came from a few key players Beebe will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Bubba Johnson, who rushed for 72 yards and a pair of scores. The team also got some help courtesy of Christian Jackson, who picked up 136 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Maumelle's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Beebe, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Beebe took their victory against Maumelle in their previous matchup back in September of 2024 by a conclusive 22-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Badgers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
