Basketball Recap: Elgin Comes Up Short

Elgin lost against Carl Albert back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Elgin Owls came up short against the Carl Albert Titans, falling 70-46. While losing is never fun, the Owls can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 168th, while the Titans are ranked 48th).

Elgin's loss dropped their record down to 12-10. As for Carl Albert, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season.

The future could be bright for both Elgin and Carl Albert: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. Elgin will look to extend Southeast's three-game losing streak when the meet at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Carl Albert will try to hand Non Varsity Opponent their tenth-straight defeat when the two meet at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
