Basketball Recap: Victory Christian Center Comes Up Short

On Thursday, the Victory Christian Center Kings came up short against the Ambassador Christian School Lions and fell 56-49. While losing is never fun, the Kings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 52nd, while the Lions are ranked ninth).

Despite the loss, Victory Christian Center still got an impressive performance from Abubakar Cham, who went 6 for 9 on his way to 14 points. Cham is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 45% in the last 17 games he's played. Carlos Marshall was another key player, putting up nine points and seven boards.

Ambassador Christian School's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but JD Bowden led the charge by earning 13 points. Another player making a difference was Logan Johnson, who went 5 of 10 en route to 20 points.

Victory Christian Center's defeat dropped their record down to 16-8. As for Ambassador Christian School, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season.

Victory Christian Center has already played their next game, a 90-16 victory against North Hills Christian on the 31st. As for Ambassador Christian School, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 60-41 loss against Davidson Day on the 31st.
