Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Cam Surface and Peyton Vega Lead Anclote to Victory + How To Watch

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against New Smyrna Beach, Anclote was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They snuck past the Palm Harbor University Hurricanes with a 50-45 win. This was payback for the Sharks, who suffered a 78-64 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Anclote was led to victory by Peyton Vega and Cam Surface. Vega posted 20 points in addition to six assists and six rebounds, while Surface dropped a double-double with 14 points and 14 boards. Those six assists gave Vega a new career-high.

Palm Harbor University lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Jez Ferrer, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and ten rebounds. He is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Arkeas Cooper, who earned 12 points.

Anclote's record is now 2-4. As for Palm Harbor University, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-4.

Coming up, Anclote will venture away from home to take on River Ridge at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Royal Knights will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Sharks surely won't give up without a fight. As for Palm Harbor University, they will be playing at home against Countryside at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday.
