Softball Preview: Central A & M Raiders vs. Tuscola Warriors

After five games on the road, Central A & M is heading back home. They will take on the Tuscola Warriors at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Last Saturday, Central A & M made easy work of MacArthur and carried off a 12-1 victory.

Gwyn Hardimon made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned run or hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Hardimon has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't pitched less than five innings in three consecutive pitching appearances. Hardimon was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two RBI.

In other batting news, Alana Harlow was incredible, going 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and a triple. Olivia Kirby was another key contributor, scoring a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Tuscola entered their tilt with Oakwood with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Comets 8-1.

Central A & M's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-7. Those victories were due in large part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.3 runs per game. As for Tuscola, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.
