Basketball Game Preview: Nazarene Christian Academy Lions vs. Weatherford Christian Lions

The Nazarene Christian Academy Lions and the Weatherford Christian Lions will face off at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Nazarene Christian Academy is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Lakehill Prep just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 42-31 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Warriors. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1474th, while the Warriors are ranked 711th).

Meanwhile, Weatherford Christian played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 90-35 loss at the hands of First Baptist. The Lions were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 45-15.

Nazarene Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Weatherford Christian, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-10 record this season.

Things could have been worse for Nazarene Christian Academy, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 53-35 loss to Weatherford Christian in their previous meeting back in January of 2020. Can Nazarene Christian Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
