Basketball Game Preview: Toledo Christian Eagles vs. Maumee Panthers

The Toledo Christian Eagles will head out on the road to square off against the Maumee Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Maumee took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Toledo Christian, who comes in off a win.

Having struggled with four losses in a row, Toledo Christian turned things around against Maumee Valley Country Day on Thursday. They breezed past the Hawks to the tune of 59-20. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 23 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, after a string of seven wins, Maumee's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They took a 48-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of Oak Harbor. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 321st, while the Rockets are ranked 82nd).

Maumee's defeat dropped their record down to 11-7. As for Toledo Christian, they now have a winning record of 9-8.

Toledo Christian and Maumee were neck-and-neck in their previous meeting back in February of 2025, but Toledo Christian came up empty-handed after a 57-56 loss. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
