Hampton and Knoch are an even 4-4 against one another since April of 2016, but likely not for long. The Talbots will look to defend their home field on Thursday against the Knights at 4:30 p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Hampton took a ten-run loss the last time they faced off against Ambridge, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Talbots had just enough and edged out the Bridgers 9-8. The Talbots' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Meanwhile, Knoch came tearing into Wednesday's matchup with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.6 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They skirted past the Golden Rams 3-1. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Zane Pacek spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Cooper Allison, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan Roth, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Knoch's victory bumped their record up to 11-1. As for Hampton, their win bumped their record up to 4-6.

Hampton was able to grind out a solid victory over Knoch when the teams last played back in April of 2025, winning 5-2. Do the Talbots have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Knights turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
