Soccer Game Preview: Swansboro vs. Coastal Christian

The Swansboro Pirates will head out to square off against the Coastal Christian Centurions at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Swansboro's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 5-0 margin over East Carteret. Given the Pirates' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 89th, while the Mariners are ranked 289th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Swansboro's offense was hitting East Carteret from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal.

Meanwhile, Coastal Christian waltzed into their match on Monday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They came within a single goal of losing the streak, but they secured a 1-0 W against the Cougars. Give the Centurions' defense some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

Coastal Christian's win bumped their record up to 5-1-1. As for Swansboro, they picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 3-1-3.
