Basketball Game Preview: Redmond Mustangs vs. Mount Si Wildcats

Redmond is 2-8 against Mount Si since December of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Redmond Mustangs will welcome the Mount Si Wildcats at 7:15 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Redmond took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They came out on top against Mercer Island by a score of 60-53.

Meanwhile, Mount Si had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They skirted past the Eagles 60-58. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked seventh, while the Eagles are ranked 66th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Mount Si's win came from a few key players Redmond will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Jimmy Pratapas, who posted 18 points. Drenden Knaevelsrud was another key player, putting up 14 points.

Mount Si is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season. As for Redmond, their victory bumped their record up to 10-3.
