Basketball Game Preview: Dixie Flyers vs. Desert Hills Thunder

The Dixie Flyers will face off against the Desert Hills Thunder at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. Dixie knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven matchups -- so hopefully Desert Hills likes a good challenge.

Dixie is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They walked away with a 55-45 victory over Provo. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Flyers' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked fourth, while the Bulldogs are ranked 35th).

Meanwhile, Desert Hills waltzed into their game on Wednesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came within five points of losing the streak, but they secured a 58-53 W against the Warriors. That's two games straight that the Thunder have won by exactly five points.

Desert Hills' win bumped their record up to 18-6. As for Dixie, their victory bumped their record up to 23-2.

Dixie beat Desert Hills 62-52 in their previous meeting on February 3rd. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Flyers since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
