Softball Recap: St. Catherine's Picks Up 15th Straight Win at Home

St. Catherine faced Brunswick Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. St. Catherine's put the hurt on Brunswick Academy with a sharp 12-6 win. 12 seems to be a good number for the Saints as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Keira Frazier was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4. Alice Kottkamp also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Frazier wasn't the only one working in the hit department: St. Catherine's kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits every time they've taken the field this season.

St. Catherine's pushed their record up to 5-1 with the win, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Brunswick Academy, they moved to 6-2 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Catherine's will head out to face off against Deep Run at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Brunswick Academy, they will venture away from home to take on Amelia Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Brunswick Academy is facing Amelia Academy at the right time seeing as Amelia Academy is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
