Softball Recap: Coronado Comes Up Short

Coronado was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 14-3 to the Montwood Rams. If the Thunderbirds were looking for revenge after losing 15-0 to the Rams when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Mikaela Leyva was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.

Coronado's loss dropped their record down to 9-16. As for Montwood, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-6 record this season.

Coincidentally, Coronado and Montwood will both be playing Eastwood the next time they take the field. The Thunderbirds will head out to face the Troopers at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, while the Rams will host them at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
