Basketball Recap: Five Straight Home Victories for Northmor

Northmor hadn't done well against Fredericktown recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Northmor Golden Knights took down the Fredericktown Freddies 66-47. This was a revenge game for the Golden Knights: when they faced off against the Freddies back in January, they had to take a 61-51 defeat.

Northmor's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jax Wenger led the charge by dropping a triple-double on 13 points, 14 rebounds, and 12 assists. The dominant performance gave Wenger a new career-high in assists. Another player making a difference was Trevor Brubaker, who went 8 for 10 on his way to 22 points.

Wenger wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Northmor was working as a unit and finished the game with 21 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Northmor's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-4. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.6 points per game. As for Fredericktown, their loss dropped their record down to 13-4.

Coincidentally, Northmor and Fredericktown will both be playing Centerburg the next time they take the court. Northmor will host Centerburg at 7:15 p.m. on Saturday, while Fredericktown will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
