Softball Recap: Ashe County Comes Up Short

Ashe County lost against Alexander Central back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Ashe County Huskies lost 9-2 to the Alexander Central Cougars.

Ashe County saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maleah Lovell, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run. That's the most hits Lovell has posted since back in April of 2024.

Ashe County's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Alexander Central, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ashe County will square off against West Wilkes at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Ashe County is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season. As for Alexander Central, they will face off against Canon-McMillan at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Alexander Central's pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so Canon-McMillan's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
