Concord Academy hasn't had much luck against Gaston Day recently, but that could start to change  on Thursday. The Eagles will be playing in front of their home fans against the Spartans  at 6:15  p.m. Both come into the  contest bolstered by wins in their previous  matches.
On Tuesday, Concord Academy made easy work of Hickory Grove Christian  and carried off  a  3-0 victory. The  win made it back-to-back  victories for the Eagles.
 Concord Academy never let Hickory Grove Christian on the board, but things got pretty close in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-20,  25-20.
Meanwhile,  there's no place like home for Gaston Day, who bounced back after a  loss on the road  last Tuesday. They came out on top against Westminster Catawba Christian by a score of  3-1  on Tuesday. The Spartans haven't had any issues with the Indians recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive  win against them.
 Gaston Day walked away with the   victory (and looked especially good in the first set). The final score came out to 25-15, 19-25, 25-22,  25-23.
 Gaston Day's win bumped their record up to 14-2. As for Concord Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 11-5.
 Concord Academy couldn't quite get it done against Gaston Day in their previous meeting  two weeks ago as they fell  3-1. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of  the Spartans'  Ava Blanton, who  had 23  digs and three assists. Now that the Eagles know the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
