Volleyball Recap: St. Ignatius Finds Playoff Glory Versus Stow-Munroe Falls

With a playoff win on the line, St. Ignatius rose to the challenge on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Stow-Munroe Falls Bulldogs as they made off with a 3-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won four in a row.

St. Ignatius' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brandon Walrod led the charge by getting 15 assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Cristian Aguirre, who had ten digs and one assist.

St. Ignatius was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 13 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in five consecutive contests.

St. Ignatius' record now sits at 22-3. As for Stow-Munroe Falls, the loss snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 13-12 record.

Coming up, St. Ignatius will take on Jackson at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Polar Bears will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something the Wildcats surely won't give up without a fight. Stow-Munroe Falls does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
