Baseball Game Preview: Mound-Westonka White Hawks vs. Edison Tommies

Mound-Westonka is a perfect 3-0 against Edison since April of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The White Hawks will be playing at home against the Tommies at 4:30 p.m. Mound-Westonka's pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so Edison's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Mound-Westonka is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They never let Jordan get on the board and left with a 14-0 win on Thursday. The victory continues a trend for the White Hawks in their matchups with the Hubmen / Jaguars: they've now won three in a row.

Cole Drill was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Max Kraay was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one triple.

Mound-Westonka always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Edison was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against Minneapolis South, falling 11-1.

Edison's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Mound-Westonka, their win bumped their record up to 3-6.

Mound-Westonka was able to grind out a solid victory over Edison in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, winning 5-2. Will the White Hawks repeat their success, or do the Tommies have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
