Softball Game Preview: Clinton Central Bulldogs vs. Bethesda Christian Patriots

Clinton Central has gone a perfect 5-0 against Bethesda Christian recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Bulldogs will square off against the Patriots at 5:30 p.m. Clinton Central is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season.

Clinton Central will bounce into Tuesday's matchup after beating Eastern, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Bulldogs were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Comets on Wednesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bulldogs.

Nuriah Harvey was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs. That's the most hits she has posted over her last ten games.

In other batting news, Carly Davison was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Lynssie Wallsmith, who went 3-for-4 with three runs.

Clinton Central was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .667. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Bethesda Christian fell victim to Cascade and their airtight pitching crew last Friday. They lost 10-0 to the Cadets. The Patriots have struggled against the Cadets recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Clinton Central's record now sits at 10-13. As for Bethesda Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-10.

Clinton Central took their win against Bethesda Christian in their previous matchup back in April by a conclusive 10-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
