Preview: Clinton vs. Strong

Given their disadvantage in the MaxPreps state rankings, Strong should expect quite the challenge on Friday. They will take on Clinton at 7:00 PM. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the teams both put up some lofty point totals in their previous games, so things might heat up even more when they meet up.

After low-scoring totals in their previous five contests, Strong brought some dynamite into their most recent game. They steamrollered Westside 42-6. Maybe the Strong offense has finally found a way to get into gear: the high-octane performance is a 180-degree turn from their last 5 games.

Meanwhile, Clinton might be getting used to good results now that the team has seven wins in a row. They were fully in charge last Friday, breezing past Yellville-Summit 43-6. With Clinton ahead 28-6 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Their wins bumped Strong to 1-6 and Clinton to 7-0. In Clinton's victory, senior Sky Davidson rushed for 88 yards and 1 touchdown and junior Weston Amos passed for 167 yards and 3 touchdowns. We'll see if Strong have a strategy for dealing with them or if they lead their team to another successful outing.
