Soccer Game Preview: Fort Lauderdale vs. Miramar

The Fort Lauderdale Flying L will take on the Miramar Patriots at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Fort Lauderdale has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 18 goals over their last three contests.

While Fort Lauderdale didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-13-2), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. Everything went their way against Stranahan last Wednesday as they made off with a 7-1 victory. Considering Fort Lauderdale have won four matchups by more than two goals this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Their offense was hitting Stranahan from everywhere, as six different players booted in a goal. Damaris Villatoro led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by herself.

Meanwhile, Miramar and Boyd Anderson finished up on equal footing with a 1-1 draw last Tuesday.

Fort Lauderdale's win bumped their record up to 4-1. Miramar's draw gives them a new season record of 1-2-2.

Fort Lauderdale took their victory against Miramar in their previous matchup back in December of 2019 by a conclusive 8-0 score. Do the Flying L's have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Patriots turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
