Football Recap: Montville Has No Trouble Against Morristown

Montville put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their undefeated season alive. Their defense stepped up to hand the Morristown Colonials a 19-0 shutout. That 19 point margin sets a new team best for the Mustangs this season.

Montville's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sierra Turner, who rushed for 126 yards on only 13 carries. Kayla Martinez made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.

Montville didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. Martinez picked up that interception and then proceeded to rub salt in the wound by taking it back the other way for a touchdown. She got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Montville's win bumped their record up to 3-0-1.

Looking ahead, Montville will face off against Mount Olive at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Morristown does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
