Football Recap: Hartfield Academy Comes Up Short

Hartfield Academy extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 1-5. They were outmatched by the Tupelo Golden Wave and fell 35-0. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Hawks were not able to get on the board.

Ethan Elliott threw for 73 yards while completing 83.3% of his passes. Teryn Green was his top target, picking up 28 receiving yards. On the ground, Collin McIntyre rushed for 54 yards.

As for Tupelo, their record now sits at 5-1. The final result isn't all that surprising considering their considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi football rankings (they are ranked second, while Hartfield Academy is ranked 52nd).

Kylan Bobo was his usual excellent self, rushing for 220 yards and two TDs while picking up 12.9 yards per carry. His longest rush was for an incredible 80 yards. Jaeden Hill helped out on the ground, rushing for 89 yards and two rushing touchdowns.

Hartfield Academy has already played their next game, a 42-7 win against Lamar on the 10th. As for Tupelo, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 43-20 victory against Southaven on the 10th.
