Lakeland Christian can attribute much of their success to Issa Simpson, who scored 20 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Simpson has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Eleni Katzaras, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and five steals.
Despite the loss, Santa Fe Catholic saw an underclassman step up: Skyler Brown scored two points along with five rebounds.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Santa Fe Catholic struggled to work together and finished the game with only an assist. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
The win was the third in a row for Lakeland Christian, bringing their record for this year to 9-3. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 35.67 points. As for Santa Fe Catholic, they are on a 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-12.
Lakeland Christian will head out on the road to take on Academy at the Lakes at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Santa Fe Catholic, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Victory Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. Victory Christian Academy presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Santa Fe Catholic in Florida (Victory Christian Academy is ranked 304th, while Santa Fe Catholic is ranked 672nd).
