Baseball Recap: Muleshoe Takes a Loss

Muleshoe came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 9-3 to the Littlefield Wildcats. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-4 back in March.

Ryan Dominguez made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Muleshoe's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Littlefield, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season.

Muleshoe will head out on the road to face off against Slaton at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Tigers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11 runs per game on average), something the Mules will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Littlefield, they will welcome Roosevelt at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Wildcats are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
