Football Recap: Roane County Piles Up the Points Against Buffalo

The Roane County Raiders blew past the Buffalo Bison, posting a 53-21 win. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Raiders' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' West Virginia football rankings (they are ranked 13th, while the Bison are ranked 94th).

Javon Letourneau went supernova, rushing for 73 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 5 carries, while also picking up 49 receiving yards and 1 score. Another rusher making a difference was Koltyn Starcher, who rushed for 86 yards and 1 TD on only 10 carries.

Roane County and finished the game with only 20 penalty yards. That's the best they've done in that category since at least August 30, 2025.

Roane County has started the season off flawlessly and have a 2-0 record to show for it. The victories were made possible by their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 39.5 points this season. As for Buffalo, they are on a three-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Coming up, Roane County will square off against Clay County at 7:00 p.m. on the 11th. As for Buffalo, they will challenge Summers County at 7:00 p.m. on the 11th.
