Central Cabarrus had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 2.4 goals) and they went ahead and made it six on Friday. They came within a single goal of losing the streak, but they secured a 1-0 W against the Carson Cougars. Given Central Cabarrus' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 126th, while Carson are ranked 273rd) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Central Cabarrus' one-goal win came courtesy of Alexandria Colligan, who's now up to 14 this season.

Central Cabarrus' victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-3-1. As for Carson, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-10-1 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Central Cabarrus will host Butler at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Carson, they will welcome Mount Pleasant at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
