Kirtland is 8-2 against Cuyahoga Heights since April of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Hornets will square off against the Red Wolves at 5:00 p.m. Kirtland will come into the game with an undefeated record on the line.
On Wednesday, Kirtland made easy work of Harvey and carried off a 15-2 win. The Hornets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matches by six runs or more this season.

Kirtland got a great performance from Max Paul as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Paul has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Carter Luzar was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Luciano Cantini, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Kirtland kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits every time they've taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Cuyahoga Heights ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They skirted past Independence 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Red Wolves have posted since April 1st.
Kirtland pushed their record up to 9-0 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Cuyahoga Heights, their record is now 6-4.
Kirtland came out on top in a nail-biter against Cuyahoga Heights in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, sneaking past 8-7. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hornets since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
