Baseball Recap: North Port Bobcats vs. DeSoto County Bulldogs

North Port was the 11-1 winner over DeSoto County when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The North Port Bobcats fell just short of the DeSoto County Bulldogs by a score of 6-5 on Monday. The Bobcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Landon Davidson and Kayden Davidson stepped up to the plate in a big way. Landon went 1-for-3 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Kayden scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. What's more, Kayden also posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in February of 2024. Steven Commander was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

North Port's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for DeSoto County, their win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-2.

Coming up, North Port will take on Bayshore at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. North Port is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 12 runs per game this season. As for DeSoto County, they will face off against IMG Academy Navy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
